flags

September continues to see controlled drug law updates with several adding or rescheduling existing substances and updating there lists of controlled substances

Below is a brief summary and highlights of some of the countries we monitor and encode in Controlled Substances Squared to allow you to easily and automatically check if your chemicals are regulated or controlled - even novel and propriatory chemicals

EU

The EU has now made Ethyl alpha-phenylacetoacetate (EAPA) and Methyl 3-oxo-2-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)butanoate (MAMDPA) Category 1 drug precursors against both Regulation (EC) No 273/2004 and Regulation (EC) No 111/2005.

USA

Final rule adopts without change an interim final rule, placing daridorexant ([(S)-2-(5-chloro-4-methyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)-2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl](5-methoxy-2-(2H-1,2,3-triazol-2-yl)phenyl)methanone), including its salts, isomers, and salts of isomers whenever the existence of such salts, isomers, and salts of such isomers is possible, in schedule IV of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). With the issuance of this final rule, the Drug Enforcement Administration maintains daridorexant in schedule IV of the CSA

Canada

Canada has added ‘Analogues and derivatives of N-Phenyl-4-piperidinamine and its salts’ including specifically 4 named fentanyl precursors, see below, to Schedule V of the CDSA. The Order that has done this is in effect for one year and will end on August 30th 2023 or the day on which an order is made that adds analogues and derivatives of 4-AP to one or more of the schedules I, II, III, IV or VI of the CDSA. 4-Anilino-1-boc-piperidine 4-Fluoro anilino-1-boc-piperidine N-(4-Fluorophenyl)-4-piperidinamine 4-Bromo anilino-1-boc-piperidine
