July continues to see controlled drug law updates with several adding or rescheduling existing substances and updating there lists of controlled substances

Denmark

The following 8 new substances have been added to List B. o ADB-BUTINACA o EDMB-PINACA o EG-018 o Eutylon o 5F-BZO-POXIZID o 5F-EMB-PINACA o MDMB-CHMCZCA o Tramadol

 

Brazil

This amendment makes the following changes; • Moves Armodafinil from A3 to B1 • Moves Modafinil from A3 to B1 • Adds Pomalidomide to C3 • Adds Gestrinone to C5

 

United States of America

The Drug Enforcement Administration will hold a hearing with respect to the proposed placement of five tryptamine hallucinogens, as identified in the proposed rule, in schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. The control of the five tryptamines was initially proposed in a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking published in the Federal Register on January 14, 2022 and subject to an earlier CS2 legislation alert.

 

Sweden

This consultation document gives an opportunity to comment on the proposed changes for the twelve substances listed below. Comments must be received by the Medical Products Agency no later than Friday 22 July 2022 at 12.00. Switzerland

This amendment introduces ‘Cannabis for medical purposes’ into Directory A. This means patients who are medically prescribed the drug will no longer need to seek exceptional permission from the health ministry. Cannabis that is not for medical purposes remains in Directory D, meaning that the sale and consumption of cannabis for non-medical purposes will remain prohibited.

 

Japan

In this announcement three substances have been made Designated Drugs under the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Act; DMXE Protonitazene CUM
